When will John Cockerill Foundation Day take place?

On March 20 each year. The 1st edition will take place in 2023.

What will happen on March 20, 2023?

On March 20, 2023, all the Group’s employees are invited to connect remotely to one of the 2 live sessions proposed, either at 09:00 AM CET or at 04:00 PM CET. The presentations are given in French and English with automatic subtitles in German, English, Arabic, Hindi, Dutch and Portuguese.
March 20, 2023 will also mark the launch of our Foundation Day Challenge which will last 1 month.

Who can participate in the Foundation Day Challenge?

All John Cockerill Group employees (with or without a John Cockerill email address). The employees’ entourage can also participate in the Challenge if they wish.

How are the Foundation Day Challenge steps counted?

Steps are automatically counted thanks to an application, No Big Deal, that participants will be invited to download from March 8, 2023.

Is it possible to reach 3,000,000 steps per team of 10?

It is entirely possible to reach the 3,000,000 steps per team of 10! The application selected to operate our challenge is articulated around 3 elements: Gamification, Empathy, Emotions. These different elements, in parallel with the effort to be made, will allow to win steps. For example: during the challenge, we will propose you to answer a quiz, which will allow you to win additional steps. Another example: the application can ask you what your state of mind is today: fit, a little tired, or other… and offer you extra steps.

How many teams need to sign up to reach the Foundation Day Challenge goal?

The John Cockerill Foundation is hoping for the commitment of a maximum number of Group employees. Statistically, just over 300 teams need to sign up to enable us to reach the objective.

Can the less athletic among us participate in the Challenge and do they have a chance of reaching the objective?

The Foundation Day Challenge is not just for the most athletic among us. The application selected to operate our challenge is articulated around 3 elements: Gamification, Empathy, Emotions. These different elements, in parallel with the effort to be made, will allow you to win steps. For example: during the challenge, we will propose you to answer a quiz, which will allow you to win additional steps. Another example: the application can ask you what your state of mind is today: in shape, a little tired, or other… and offer you extra steps.

Are pedal strokes counted?

Yes, pedal strokes are converted into steps if the participant has his phone in his pocket.

How is the €50,000 redistributed to associations?

All Group employees are invited to recommend an association of their choice until March 20, 2023. Among these proposals, 10 will be selected according to the criteria established by the Foundation. These are the same criteria used for the annual Call for Projects.

Can I participate if we do not have a team of 10?

Yes, to join an incomplete team, contact the ambassador of your area or ophelie.demoulin@johncockerillfoundation.org.
