”The John Cockerill Foundation is playing a vital role in funding part of the training and awareness-raising activities aimed at children and women working on tea plantations in Sri Lanka, helping to mitigate the effects of the worst economic crisis the country has experienced since independence.”<\/p>\n

Faced with this crisis, which affects the entire population and has led to a food crisis due to shortages of essential products, it is crucial to support the most vulnerable groups, particularly women and children, who are often the hardest hit.<\/p>\n

Against this backdrop, Indah, Women Solidarity Front and Human Development Organization have joined forces to implement a development project for women and children on tea plantations. By providing financial support for this initiative, we hope to improve the local economy and the education of women and children.<\/p>\n

One of the main aims of this project, launched during the Covid health crisis, is to provide vocational training for women working on tea plantations. Partly financed by the Foundation, these training courses aim to enhance their skills, enabling them to diversify their sources of income.<\/p>\n

Alongside this training, the project also focuses on children, offering them access to quality education. The aim of these programs is to give them the tools they need to blossom and build a better future.<\/p>\n

This project to support women and children in tea plantations offers new opportunities, strengthens the economic autonomy of women and opens up promising prospects for children. By investing in education, training and awareness-raising, we are helping to break the cycle of poverty and create a positive, lasting impact in these vulnerable Sri Lankan communities.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
